Are you wondering how to get rid of wild boars? With a scent fence, fields, vineyards and gardens are a thing of the past. Let's show you how to use a scent fence to protect your land from black beasts.
Wild pigs, or who are the black beasts?
Wild boar is the name given to black beasts in hunting circles, and is also used in common parlance. Black beasts used to include bears, tur and bison. Wild boars feed on roots, plant tubers, beetle larvae, earthworms, moles and mice. As you can see from the list, their food lives in the ground and they have to dig it out of the soil. But we humans suffer property damage in the form of uprooted lawns or dead crops that die from exposed roots.
Damage to fields caused by feral pigs
It is in the fields where pigs cause the most damage, where they also destroy crops by tearing up the soil. These are usually fields of wheat, potatoes, corn or peas. However, it is the field smell fence that serves well to protect fields and has proved its worth to many of our customers. Among the products for crop protection you will also find smell fences against deer, which can eat up entire crops in no time.
Feral pigs and vineyard damage
Just like in the fields, wild boars can cause considerable damage to vineyards. They like to include not only vines but also tree trunks in some cases. Vineyards must therefore be protected from the gnawing of vines and the gnawing of shrubs and trees. However, scent fences have excellent results in protecting vineyards. Uninvited garden visitors
Of course, we mustn't forget about unkempt gardens or golf courses, for which feral pigs are specialists. In gardens, they are again attracted by the crops grown, but they can also destroy the turf under which earthworms or other soil animals hide. In combination with a mole, you can have a beautiful English lawn and a very laboriously maintained green in no time. All you need to do is get a scent fence to protect your lawns and gardens. Your gardens and golf course will not only be safe from feral pigs, but also from moles, which can also be combated with a scent fence.
Scent fences not only against feral pigs
Whether you're worried about wild boars or other forest animals, scent fences are a great protection against pests. We take care in the production of our scent concentrates to ensure that we can offer you an unrivalled quality of game repellent that also works in freezing weather. However, if you're looking for a pest control solution, you can't go wrong with a scent fence. This is because we make our scent fence concentrates from substances that are safe for wildlife. So they repel animals, but don't harm them.
The principle of scent fences
So how do scent fences repel wildlife? Very simply. We use a scent concentrate as a pest repellent, the scent of which mimics that of the species' natural enemies. The scent is released from the fence by sunlight, giving the animal a clear signal not to enter the enclosed area.
Although scent fences are a non-invasive way of scaring off wildlife, they have shown excellent results. According to references on scent fences, customers are celebrating success with them. Share your opinion on scent fences with us.
What does an odour fence consist of
Each scent fence kit consists of a scent concentrate and scent fence accessories. The concentrate is always selected according to the scent fence composition suitable for the game species or the use of the scarecrow. The scent fence carrier is also selected according to the use. We offer the biodegradable carrier BIO10-PO, the biodegradable carrier BIO10-S, scent fence foam and wood wool designed especially for moles.
You can achieve greater efficiency of the scent fence by purchasing an adapter that protects the concentrate from the elements. In open areas without trees and shrubs, wooden stakes are also useful for placing scarecrows.

Installation and application of the odour fence
Before installing a scent fence against wild boars, you should first think about where you want the blackbuck barriers to run and for how long. The length of the fence also determines the amount of concentrate required per carrier. You can easily calculate the consumption of scent concentrate in our clever calculator.
As far as the placement of the feral pig scent fence is concerned, as long as there are enough bushes, trees, poles or other suitable objects in the vicinity, you are fine. Otherwise, supplement the space with stakes so that the spacing between the individual black scent fences is 5 m.
Then place the adaptors in the selected locations. Then insert the selected carriers into the carriers and apply the concentrate. The application of the odour fence is done by injecting the odour fence concentrate into the carrier at three points for 1 second.
Use and maintenance of the odour fence
There is really nothing complicated about installing, maintaining or using the scent fence. So how do you use the scent fence? Simply install the scent fence and then renew the scent concentrate as needed. Re-application is usually done every 2-4 weeks. In very unsuitable weather conditions or when there is a high concentration of feral pigs, re-apply the feral pig repellent after perhaps as little as 2 weeks.

Odour concentrates with electric fence against feral pigs
If you need to increase the effectiveness of your protection against blackbuck or other pests, we can highly recommend a combination of scent and electric fencing. In fact, electric fencing against feral pigs will create a solid barrier in places you don't want wildlife to go.
Electric fences, like scented game scarers, are among the safest ways to get rid of pests. In electric hog fences, only a small amount of current passes through the fence, which will not harm the hogs. In addition, with a properly grounded electric fence, you don't have to worry about problems caused by lightning strikes.
We have chosen combined or battery-powered electric fencing for our scent and electric pig fence kits. Battery-powered fencing can be powered from the mains, from a battery or a combination of both. This makes it easy to protect remote fields without access to electricity.
In our offer you will find 2 sets of scent and electric fencing for wild boars. These are:
Odour fences for protection against collision with wild boars
It's not only deer, roe deer and fallow deer that end up under the wheels of cars. Foxes or wild boars are also at risk from collisions with cars. That's why we also offer scent fences to protect roads against wildlife collisions. Think of wildlife and prevent collisions with vehicles. Install scent fences along roads.
Protection against African swine fever
A pig scent fence kit can be used not only to protect your property, but also to protect wild boars against African swine fever. How is this possible? The scent fences demarcate an area, creating an invisible pen for the pigs from which the wild boars will not leave. Infected blackbucks will stay in one place and will not threaten healthy wild boars or domestic pigs. In addition, the demarcated area will help hunters catch infected wild boars.
