For the application of the PREVENTION method for the protection of roe deer against mowing, 2 meadows of 20 ha and 60 ha in the Přízeř hunting area, Větrná locality, Český Krumlov district were selected.
The meadow of 20 ha was treated by EKOPLANT, s.r.o. on 6 April 2024 using BIO10-S carriers injected with PACHO-LEK STOP deer odour fence concentrate. The BIO10-S carriers were spread 40 m apart, around the perimeter of the meadow and over the whole area.

A check for possible fawn bedding was made by drone with a thermal camera just outside the hayfields of both meadows with the following result:
Meadow - 20 ha was clear, without any fawns, only two adult fawns were spooked during the drone check. Meadow - 60 ha, the drone identified 2 fawns here, which were taken to the trapping cage. What is very interesting - 4 hinds were nursing piglets in the meadow area, which were taken to safety before the hayfield.
If we are to evaluate the success of the whole event, which was planned and prepared by the company EKOPLANT, s.r.o., in terms of organization and materials, we must clearly confirm the success of the event, as no deer were mowed down. The event was managed by 7 hunters in 3 hours from 11:00 to 14:00.
The great advantage was that the presence of people in the early morning hours was not necessary and before the actual haying the drone pilot only checked both areas.
For next year, EKOPLANT, s.r.o. is preparing a further improvement of the PREVENTION method using a drone with the participation of only 1 pilot and 2 people for the eventual removal of the fawns.
