In the following article, we will advise you how to apply a scent fence easily and without worries so that you no longer have to worry about your chicken coop, rabbit hutches and hutch, fruit trees, fields or vineyard. Moreover, with a scent fence, you will completely get rid of the sight of unsightly mesh around the property.
The installation itself is by no means complicated, and we'll walk you through the entire process step by step. First, let's take a look at what you'll need to apply this wireless fence:
- A wooden stake, posts for your fence or trees - in short, anything you can attach the odor fence carrier adapter to at a sufficient height.
- Smell fence carrier adapter
- Odour fence carrier:
- BIO10-PO odour carrier - suitable for use in agriculture, forestry, viticulture and transport
- Odour carrier BIO10-S - particularly suitable for the application of odour fences before haying, where it helps to protect deer during the harvest season
- Wood wool rolls - for scent fences that serve as a mole repellent or repellent for mice and other rodents
- PU foam - suitable for indoor and outdoor use, also useful for African swine fever or against martens in the attic, barn or garage

Before purchasing materials, it is advisable to consider how large an area you will be applying the odour fence to and purchase not only the correct number of carriers but also the correct number of odour fence concentrate accordingly. How to install a scent fence for an environmentally friendly game deterrent
Once you have everything you need, you can start the installation process, which can be done in three easy steps:
- Attach the scent fence carrier adapter to posts, fences, tree trunks, tree stumps or other suitable places of your choice in the direction from which the animals come, with intervals of 5-10 metres between these places.
- Insert the scent carrier of your choice into the adapter.
- Inject the selected odour fence concentrate into the odour carrier with three injections for one second.
You can also apply the odour fences directly, without the carrier adapter. However, the carrier adapter serves primarily as rain protection and protection against snow and mechanical damage. In the case of outdoor use, this significantly extends the life of the odour carrier itself.
If you are installing an odour fence as garden protection, tree protection against biting or protection of fields and agricultural crops, especially against black beasts, we recommend that you additionally tie the BIO 10-S carriers into the space.
During the application of the odour fence, use the prescribed protective equipment and follow the manufacturer's instructions - you are handling chemicals! In the event of skin contamination with the odour substance, it may take several days for it to evaporate.
What to avoid when installing and using a scent fence
Even though our odour fence is environmentally friendly and biodegradable, there are a few recommendations you should follow when installing it:
- When installing in an orchard or garden, maintain a buffer zone of at least ten metres from fruit trees.
- When installing around a pond or lake, maintain a minimum ten metre buffer zone from the water surface.
- Never use mounting foam instead of PU foam as an odour carrier, as it is ineffective and breaks down into particles that are dangerous for nature and animals due to UV radiation.
