Regular renewal of the scent concentrate will help keep deer, martens, moles and other pests away from your land, crops, livestock, chicken coop or rabbit hutch. The intervals for renewing the scent concentrate in the carrier can vary based on the activity of nearby wildlife. Therefore, we recommend starting with a renewal interval of two to four weeks to begin with. During periods of increased wildlife activity, such as during the fall rut or winter when animals are looking for food, we recommend renewing the scent concentrate at more frequent intervals of seven to 14 days.
We recommend checking the fence regularly, including the carrier adaptors themselves, and renewing the scent concentrate immediately if animals enter the property. Photo traps can help you keep an eye on your property. Even if you have not encountered a pest on your property, renew the fence at least four times a year.
I've had animals trespassing on my property even after the odor concentrate has been renewed.
If you have had unpleasant surprises such as ruined crops, chewed trees or a marten in the chicken run even after renewing the odour concentrate, it is possible that the animals have become accustomed to the smell and are no longer afraid of it. Therefore, consider using a different odour concentrate or try a combination of an odour fence and an electric fence.
